Publisher Description
Looking to for a new way to eat great tasting food, and still stay fit and healthy?
Looking to lose weight - but wary of 'fad' and 'crash' dieting?
Want to manage your energy levels by eating more appropriately?
Sounds like you might benefit from a low GL lifestyle - GL Buddy could help you!
What is GL?
GL (glycaemic load) might make you think of GI (glycaemic index), and the two are related - but there are major differences:
The glycemic index (GI) indicates how rapidly a carbohydrate is digested and released as glucose (sugar) into the blood.
Glycemic load takes this one step further by considering the energy 'load' in the food - taking into account the amount of carbohydrate present.
In short - GL is considered by many to be a more reliable gauge of the energy 'spike' received from the food.
GL Buddy is a reference app that provides an indication of the GL load for different food items.
Building a list of food items is easy - just start typing and the app narrows down your search in seconds. Tap the item you want and it's added to the selection.
GL Buddy gives you stats for the foods selected. You can easily customise your selection by adjusting individual portion sizes, and the app will automatically sort the list by order of the foods with the highest load.
GL is a well-used tool for weight loss and management of blood-sugar levels.
Whilst it can never claim to better than a visit to your GP, GL Buddy is a great pocket reference for anyone who wants to be healthy, happy and full of life... Get it today!
